Missionary South Sudan Learning Thursday 21st March
Hello today we had some missionaries called Phil and Janet from South Sudan they told us about it,it was amazing.
- River goes through south Sudan.
- 65 languages.
- gets up to 43 degrees.
- they make their bed sheets wet because its so hot.
- water comes from niel.
- the toilets are different in south Sudan you do you droppings in holes while standing.
- transport is very dangerous in south Sudan.
- lots of churches.
- hardly any tourists in south Sudan.
- houses are made of mud and sticks and rocks.
- they use sticks for tooth brushes.
- Juba is the capital.
- $100 pounds in Sudan is 30 cents in new Zealand.
- young children at the age of six also hunt.
- most common gun is A-K-47/rifles to protect there cows.
- scars for ID to each tribes.

- Eels are slimy to get stuck in small spaces
- Long ago eels lived in saltwater
- Australian long fins have spots on them
- It takes them 5 months to get to Tonga to breed
- Eels can grow up to 2 meters
- Eels can smell from very long distances
- Eels are carnivores
- Long fins hide and attack
- Eels have arrow shaped teeth
- Their teeth face backwards so that if something gets in, it can't get out
- Eels eat animals whole
- Eels eat baby ducklings
- Eels spin and bite to rip flesh off their prey
- Eels can breath through their skin and gills
- Eels have evolved from other fish
- Females are bigger then males because they have 7-20 millions of eggs
- You can tell what their age is with the rings on their ear bone
- The larva get swept in current into New Zealand

Today we Skyped with some experts about water.
Today I learned that water can never run out because the water cycle keeps going round and round and never stops. I also learnt that there is nets to get the plastic out of water.

Weekly update Friday 8 March
Hello,
This week has been amazing!!! The highlight for me was our field trip on Thursday.
my favourite activity was feel the long fin
eels and how there caught in there net and feeling how smiley the eels where and touching the adult whitebait.
Also the walk and wheel day was rely fun and even I did it!!!!
